What is Cottages for Kids?

CVHN Cottages for Kids is a unique fundraising event that benefits Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc., a faith based, 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that seeks to enhance the lives of uninsured and underinsured children by facilitating free immediate access to medical, dental and mental health care.

With tremendous imagination and craftsmanship, builder’s and architects come together to create, construct and decorate whimsical cottages that look like they have popped out from the pages of a fairytale to modern creations brimming with creativity.

CVHN History

The spark that ignited the concept for Children’s Volunteer Health Network, was a young boy who attended an after school program at a local church. He desperately needed orthodontic care and his single mother did not have the resources. He couldn’t chew his food properly, his appearance embarrassed him and created problems for him at school.

He soon became a very angry young man & began missing a lot of school. The desire to help that child evolved to ‘what can we do to help all local school children who don’t have insurance’? From that thought, CVHN was birthed. Having made over 1000 appointments, we have over 80 medical, dental and mental health providers who see these children at no cost.
